First Day in Lima, Peru

January 04, 2008

I still can not believe that I am in Peru I woke up and I realized that next to me I have a roommate name Colleen, and we do not anything about each other, but thankful she is a nice person and I can see that she would be a person good to stay in touch with because she is so nice. The whole entire day we went to a museum that showed us more of the history of Peru which it was better interesting since they had many sculptures that the Incas had made, one of the must interesting were the Huacos retratos since they sculpture themselves or those that were the must important in their society, also they had sculptures of different sickness that it was running in their period, Religion was also one of the sculptures they decided to make because they knew that others were practicing different religion and other Goddess from the ones that they had, and another interest thing that caught my attention was the way they made different things that they used in the kitchen to keep their food warm or to have a better use to it.
After the museum we headed to different churches that were catholic since in Peru the main religion is Catholic, one of them was Convento Santo Domingo that was set up for people to go in and have an experience of different painting made years before, it also show some of the history of how the Inca’s religion was also included since some Incas were introduced to Catholic religion.
At the end of the tour we had our own time to decide were we were heading, so Colleen and another friend name Nichole (nikki) decided to walk around a mall that is in front of the Pacific Ocean, which it was set up mostly for tourist because it had a lot of variety of American food like McDonalds, KFC, Pizza, Hoovers, and others. In there we started buying things for our friends and family and walked around for hours to see different things.
