Cusco, Peru

January 05, 2008

After only being in Peru for only one whole day it was time for us to pack up and head towards Cusco, so we had to wake up around three AM, Which for me meant that I was not going to sleep the whole night I decide to stay downstairs with some of my group members chatting and wondering about Machu Picchu, since we were going to be there in two days. Once we arrived to Cusco it seem that we were in another country in view of the fact that you would see more Incas or the way the airport it is set up less attractive compare to others, and you were able to see more animals and it had so many more natural things, as an example the houses are constructed with mud, eucalypt and water others would have some bricks with cement in the first floor and then the rest with mud and eucalypt, Our tour director said that they were constructed like that to keep the warm in the houses since they were not able to afford for heater.
The altitude made a big difference of the way you would breath and it would make you much tired easier, in addition to that the majority of the streets were hills not too big but it was kind of tiring walking in there, in the afternoon we were taken around to see Cusco more. One of the things that I enjoyed a lot was that since I got there I was able to conduct questionnaires for people that knew a lot of information about Peru, it was easier to do it since I was using the Ipod recorder.
